Duck Creek now has a Notary in the library, every third Friday of the month! Walk-ins welcome on a first-come, first-served basis.

Notary Guidelines and requirements are as follows:

Valid government-issued photo ID required
Signer must appear in person, be able to communicate directly with the notary, understand the transaction, and sign willingly
Any required witnesses must be provided by the signer. Witnesses must be at least 18 years old and present valid government-issued photo identification
Maximum of two notarizations per person
Documents should be complete. Do not sign documents until instructed to do so by the notary
Free notary services are intended for personal matters and not commercial or business transactions
The notary is not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice or prepare legal documents
The notary may decline a notarization if identification cannot be satisfactorily established, the signer does not appear aware or willing, the document is incomplete, or other circumstances prevent the notarization from being completed
Certified copies of birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage certificates cannot be notarized
